Wow, I haven't updated in a REAL LONG TIME. A lot has been going on, mainly I was working a night job in addition to my full-time job, which basically meant I had absolutely NO free time. Well, the summer is here and with it, a break from the night job....least till September.

I am gonna try updating on here a little more, maybe change the layout a little, add a media player like I have on one of my other sites. Should probably incorporate some twitter up in here too!

Well that's all for now, back to watching The Shield.

Hasta.

Apparently the last time I put up an entry on here was freaking December, good gosh. A lot has been going on recently. Around in December I got the Night Help Desk job here at Translyvania Univ. Basically I work 6-11pm, Sun-Thurs. It's good, pays well, is kinda easy, the travel to and from is about 30 minutes but, hey, long as gas prices don't get to 3 bucks or above a gallon, this job is worth going to.

A lot of my time has been spent on one of the other sites I have been bloggin on, http://www.comicoverload.com, basically I read so much that it's a good way to just rant on about stuff within it, whether it be art or writing....which, well, with Marvel nine times outta ten I have a problem with the writing.

With this new part time job I roughly have....NO TIME. Ok, maybe that's overstating it. I still have my Friday nights' and all of Saturday free. I still have had a chance to keep up to date on all of this iPhone craziness.

The iPhone is a nice step in cell phone technology but, the biggest step will be when live video is integrated into cell phones. I am talking live person to person video communication. The tech has been approved greatly upon in the past couple of years for landline phones but, the next step is developing it hardcore for cell phones. I suppose the two most difficult components to the development of such a cell phone would be collapsable video screen, as well as the technology to compress and decompress real-time video quickly enough over cell phones. Time will tell when we get to this point. I'd say 10 years for this technology to come about but, maybe that's too optimistic.

In the past month I have had more food thrown at me then in the whole entire year.

Two Weeks Ago - Christmas Party for work = Good dinner
Friday before Christmas - Pot-luck of sorts at work, think food enough for 40 people
Christmas - BIG Morning Breakfast/BIG Afternoon Lunch
Today - New Years' Work Pot-luck - UGh almost as much as the last potluck
Saturday - Food up at Ohio for Christmas up there

and people wonder why they gain extra weight during the holidays. If I have any more food thrown at me I am gonna lose it.

Had a nice time in Morehead, it was relaxing even though the drive was a tad tiring. Lately I have become a bit fired up about my public library and its ordering practices. What I am talking about, is the shortage of graphic novels at Paul Sawyer Library. The shortage of this medium isn't horrible but, by no means is it good either. Graphic novels aka Comic Books have more and more become a respected literary medium, and there have been many cases wherein ordering of graphic novels has caused an increase in library visitors/patrons. At the moment I am going through a couple of different websites on how to increase awareness of it and get an overall game plan set up. In all it seems like something trivial to get fired up about but, part of my property tax goes to the library and it doesn't make sense to have a library that doesn't actually get books/novels myself and many others would like.

I haven't been back to MSU in over a year I think, really it's not by choice more due to the fact that gas prices have kinda been ridiculous, plus work, and many other reasons. I might crash at Meg & Crystal's tonight but, depending on the weather I am not sure yet, plus I don't wanna impose on them like that. There are a lot of reasons, one of which is I have been updating and tweaking a comic book site/blog I started up: http://www.comicoverload.com. In general it's just a place where I put down my thoughts on comics for that week and anything else comic related that comes to my mind. Besides the whole comic website, I have just been busy with random other stuff. The holiday season has kinda been zipping by and I think everyone is just trying to speed right along with it. Got some possible good things happening with a thing at Transylvania University in the future but, for now it's all iffy and undetermined. I will try to update this site more, change the design some but, I make no promises other then to not forget about this blog entirely.

So here's what I have updated....the Recent Posts module. Basically before, the Recent Posts module to the right wasn't working right and was referencing posts for almost a month or ago, so I fixed it. Lately I have been getting a lot of spam comments, apparently I didn't have something set up, and they were getting posted to the site; after looking around in the setting some though, I figured out how to turn back on the approve comments function, so in short if you comment and don't see it right away it's because I haven't looked at my email just yet and approved the comments. This is kind of a pain in the butt for people that like immediate commenting/posting but, it's either this or I allow all comments which basically means spam as well.

Details have been released from various sources, Gamespot, The New York Times, etc. Here are the finer points:

-250 dollar price tag in the US, ouch, can't you all make it just 50 bucks less, geeze.

-Release date of the Wii console will be Nov. 19th, which is two or three days after the PS3's supposed release and also on a Sunday? Yeah I don't know why Sunday either.

-Supplied with console (only color is white before you ask), and it comes with the nunchaku and Wiimote controllers

-25 game launch line-up, Zelda: Twilight Princess being on the list.

and the main info I wanted to hear about. Old NES/SNES/and N64 games. So the online component of the wii is gonna be set up similar to XBOX 360s' point system, so many points will get you so many things. Pretty much each dollar equates to 100 points.

NES game download = 500 points = 5 bucks
SNES game download = 800 points = 8 bucks
N64 game download = 100 points = 10 bucks

Eh, 5 bucks for an NES game....3 bucks maybe but, five is a little steep. That's the big news, for now anyway. Supposedly you'll be able to pick up 20 dollar Wii point cards. Some memory is already built into the Wii console but it looks like yes, you'll have to get some memory cards.

Ignore this last part it's just a reminder list of games I need to download whenever the wii comes out and I actually will buy it.

NES
-Mario Brothers 1,2,3
-Zelda 1,2
-Donkey Kong
-Metroid
-Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1,2,3
-X-Men Arcade Game
-Simpsons : Space Mutants Game
-Mega Man
-Castlevania
-Startropics 1,2
-Contra
-Duck Hunt
-Dr. Mario
-Joust
-Ghosts & Goblins

SNES
-Mario Bros Games
-Zelda: A Link to the Past
-Donkey Kong 1
-Super Metroid

N64
-Starfox

So, last night we did a podcast wherein we interviewed Peter David, how freaking cool is THAT. Most who read this blog probably went. Who is Peter David? The short & simple, he's a really good comic book writer (X-Factor, a couple of issues of Spider-Man: The Other, Fallen Angel, etc). The overall podcast seemed to go well, though as usual I was beat after it. Finally have gotten around to reading last week's stash of books, so far nothing really annoying...well 52 did tick me off to an extent but, I have already ranted about it on Aboutheroes.com forum. As soon as Friday comes around I'll be glad, short of another podcast Saturday morning, my weekend is gonna be free which means I don't have to do jack. Been trying to get one of the other .com's set up this week, hosting is working out the issues on the server I am on, it looks like they are getting things resolved pretty quickly, I'll probably know when I can start on the other .com sometime today or tomorrow. Really that's all, gotta clean up the apartment, maybe start reading more of this Web Design Garage book, which isn't that bad. The book seems to be going into the design/aesthetics of web sites more which, is what I want to really learn about. I can code webpages easily it's just making it look nice, organized, and purposeful, where I have problems. Well I guess I should get back to the grindstone. Later.

Been pretty busy lately. Got an interview or two set up for the podcast but, whether or not it'll be workable is an entirely different situation. Scheduling keeps coming up as an issue and there is just so much stuff going on this month. Between people's weddings, birthdays, interviews and all the other stuff, things are kinda hectic. Forget even having time to work on websites. I don't mind keeping busy but, I'd like one or two weekends in a row where I just don't have anything and can have a little time to myself. Oh well, maybe next weekend.

On a side note, Good Well-Wishes to my Cousin Sara as she gets married this Saturday. I'll be there. Especially looking forward to the grub afterwards, hear it's gonna be goood. :)
